An Axle Back Exhaust System.

The DME Axle back echaust system for the the Scion xA and xB(’04-06) offers a less restrictive exhaust passage for better performance. Its mandrel-bent piping as well to make sure it maximizes air flow. DME fabricates each system from 100% stainless steel to make sure it stands the weather, rocks and all other little road hazards that kick up while your beating the streets. Stainless Steel = Strength, Beauty and Integrity. Each system that they make has a deeper tone to insure a nice sound throughout the entire RPM range. With it being a bolt on application, installation is a breeze as it connects right to factory piping. Supplied with a silencer incase theres those days your havin a head ache or if your coming home from the track late that day and you want to be nice to your neighbors in the middle of the night lol. All the needed hardware comes with it also, so anybody can install it! At A decent price of $299.99 its not bad for this kind of modification!

 is who I am covering today and its about their line of JDM tails for the 07-08 Honda Fit. JDM = Japanese Domestic Market, and usually a JDM part is one of the hottest modifications a honda/acura/nissan/lexus/toyota/subaru etc owner can apply to their car.

Todays JDM modification for the Fit is the taillights, and there are three kinds. Type 1, 2 and 3. The difference’s are all visual.

Type 1:

 = All Smoked Lens with Red LED Brake Light Design.

Type 2:

 = Smoked Signal Lens Light with Red LED Brake Light Lens Design.

Type 3:

 Clear Signal Light Lens with Red LED Brake Light Lens Design.

Today’s Automotive Corner is coming at you from the very same place the mod shop came at you from, our local panera bread..man im gonna go broke here lol. Also to let all of our fans know, the Automotive Corner and The Mod Shop are going to come at you at a new time slot,late afternoon-early evening. Right now it’s currently 6pm and this is around the time ill be able to drop some knowledge on ya from now on! Well Today we are discussing Honda motor company’s latest sub-compact to hit the market within the last few years, The Fit!

Its getting alittle bit of a revision as far as looks go, and Honda is throwing in a few more goodies for the 2009 Sport model. This new fit which will debut as the NY international auto show has enchanced comfort and convenience, though dimensionally compact on the outside, the interior provides surprisingly large passenger and cargo space to maximize comfort and utility. Now this is pretty cool, this new fit is suited up with what they call the “rear Magic Seat”. Pretty much this is a one-motion dive-down rear seat that folds flat with the front seats in the rearmost slide position and without removing the rear head restraint’s. They also have many seating and cargo-carrying configurations like “tall object mode, long object mode and utility mode.” I personally would love to see how these configuration’s set and where they set.Honda has also thrown in a new hidden storage bin under the driver’s side rear seat to provide a place to for small items.

Now on the tech side, the Fit Sport offers an available factory-installed Satellite-Linked Nav System complete with voice recognition, and 6.5-inch screen. All Fit Sport models come with a USB based audio system thats compatible with the latest iPods and many USB storage devices. Truth be told this car like many small cars are not just great on gas, but like an over-powered go kart, they are fun to Drive!

Now for the powerplant. The Fit features a new ity bity 1.5-liter i-VTEC™ 4 Cyl motor connected to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic, and like many car companies these day’s honda is also jumping on the ferrari bandwagon with including steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. This new motor is designed to offer the best fuel economy and power possible within reason. As for rims, the standard fit will have 15′s and 16-inch’s rims will see the sport model. These rim sized compliment the Fit’s enhanced suspension, steering and body rigidity, which are intended to produce sportier handling without sacrificing comfort. 

Now with all the electronic goodies, and the cargo space adjustments and the performance comes the most important part, Safety! The 2009 Fit now is equipped with Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure technology, Vehicle Stability Assist ™ (VSA®) and active head restraints. They also keep your knoggin safe with Dual-stage, dual-threshold front airbags, dual front-side airbags with passenger-side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) and side-curtain airbags as well. All seating positions have three-point seat belts. Additionally, front and rear visibility is improved over the previous generation. We cannot forget something like anti-lock braking system (ABS), with ventilated discs in the front and drums in the back, and electronic brake distribution (EBD). I dont know about you, but to me this sounds like a complete package in todays world in every direction, but does it tickle your fancy in the looks department? Could you drive a car that you in your opinion was not so attractive but you knew if something happened while on the road you would be safe? Thats the ultimate question.
