VizX With Some Automotive News, Japanese Tuning Giant Greddy/Trust Declares Bankruptcy!!!

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

I cant believe this!! One of the largest tuning companies takes a dive!! This is insane, I never thought I would see this company go down.

“The market for aftermarket parts from Japan has been declining for well over five years, due in part to decreased demand both at home and abroad and the rising rates of Chinese knock-offs and other inexpensive (and dubiously built) components.

Today, one of the world’s largest performance parts companies, known as Trust in Japan and Greddy here in the States, declared bankruptcy. According to various reports, Trust is approximately $60 million in debt and, after reporting a serious decline in sales since February 2008 and amassing $43 million in loan payments, filed for bankruptcy in Tokyo District Court.

Trust has been around since 1976, employs almost 200 workers and had been dealing in everything from CARB-legal exhausts to turbo systems when Greddy Performance Products was founded in the U.S. in 1994. There are several firms that will step up to fill the need of enthusiasts, assuming that Trust doesn’t try to reorganize, but with the aftermarket industry down overall, we suspect this won’t be the last time we’ll hear about a large tuner going under.”

Welcome To The Mod Shop!! Today We Spotlight: EuroSport Accessories

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Today on the mod shop we are going German! das Suchen nach einem Auslassventil für Ihr Mk4 Golf oder jetta? For all our English speaking individuals I said “looking for an exhaust for your Mk4 golf or jetta?” well at least I think I did, lol Anyways If you are then great! You came to the right spot!!

Today we are spot-lighting a company based out of Anaheim California that carries some very well made products for your piece of Euro Goodness.

EuroSport

This is a company that carries a variety of parts for your VW or Audi and out of all the parts they carry, im here to tell you about something your ride needs to exhale a little faster to get you those extra horses and ft/lbs your looking for. They have two kinds of exhaust systems for your Jetta/golf 1.8 & VR6′s and the 1st one is The Hidden Tip Exhaust:

VW hidden tip exhaust

The Hidden Tip System is a stainless steel rear muffler with a shortened tip pointed in a downward direction(seen above) behind the valance, its made of 2 1/2 inch aluminized mandrel bent 16 gauge piping and it comes with a 2yr limited warranty or a 3yr if you decide to get it ceramic coated.

The other exhaust system they carry is the “Exposed Tip” exhaust system:

Mk4 Exposed tip exhaust

The exposed tip exhaust system is a stainless steel rear muffler that comes with a stainless resonator (resonator on VR6 models only). Its consists of 3inch stainless steel tips and 2 1/2inch stainless steel mandrel bent piping that is 16 gauge. It also comes with a 5yr warranty.

When EuroSport exhaust systems were designed, they kept the automotive enthusiast in mind. There mufflers are manufactured from 100% stainless steel with a perforated core to ensure a smooth unrestricted exhaust flow. With an all weld construction, with stainless steel mesh packing and a high temp sound absorbing material inside, you better believe these exhaust systems are top notch! All the piping is mandrel bent to ensure maximum flow, granting you anywhere between 5-8HP along with a nice tone to boot. So why go anywhere else for an exhaust? I don’t see a reason! For a top notch product for a very good price, you get a few extra ponies, And make your veedub friends jealous by the sound of your exhaust as well??? Its a Given. EuroSport is the place to go!!

For a list of prices on these exhaust systems, please visit their website at http://www.eurosportacc.com/eurosport_performance_exhaust_vw_volkswagen.htm and while your there, look around… your wallet will thank you in the end!
