Hello Everyone, Welcome to the Mod Shop! Spotlight: AEM Power

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

Welcome Everybody to another edition of VizX’s The Mod Shop, I Am VizX coming at you today with something thats a very very important part of your cold air intake. This product is called an air bypass valve. The Air Bypass Valve virtually eliminates the chance of hydro-lock should the filter of your AEM Cold Air intake somehow gets submerged in water. On most systems, the valve installs along the upper portion of the inlet pipe and shuts down induction at the filter when it becomes submerged, rerouting the air to keep water out and air flowing in.

You can get this bypass for your AEM Intake HERE for between $50.00 – $60.00

Well thats it for the mod shop this week! Keepin it short and sweet for you ya know. I hope you enjoyed your time! Don’t forget about getting your hands on Flytoyz decals for your ride! Spread The Word, Flytoyz is the truth!

Ill see you monday on the automotive corner!

Welcome Back Flytoyz Fans! The Automotive Corner Is Back!

Monday, September 1st, 2008

Ok After a small hiatus VizX is here and im bringin you The Automotive Corner! Ok so what im talking about today is something ive gone over twice already, but I keep coming back because the envelop keeps getting pushed farther and farther!!

The Infamous Nurburgring in Germany has seen a few supercars as of late. “Godzilla” a.k.a. The Nissan GTR set the standard with a new world record, then the guys at Chevrolet we like, nah I dont think so… So they took their beastly new Corvette ZR-1 around the ring and that had beaten Godzilla’s time. This record time had stood for a little while now, and then the guys at Dodge felt they needed to beat it for automotive supremacy and they did!! They beat the ZR-1 by around 3-4 seconds! The Car? Viper ACR, makes sense to me! Hell that new European company Cerberus is killing the Viper in a few years, why not break some records before we say goodbye to one of the hottest exotic-american cars ever made?

I also found the video of the viper on its run, its the in car camera and you can just head all 10 cylinders banging the rev limiter and see the shifter bounce around like no tomorrow from it also! I hope you enjoy it! I know I sure did!

and if you would like to see how the ACR Viper did compared to the ZR-1 ‘Vette.. I found this on the tube also that someone else made and put them together, awesome job btw!

Well thats it for the automotive Corner! I hope you enjoyed it as this is how they new style is for the ‘Corner, short and sweet with all the info you want and crave to be IN THE KNOW! Coming Up this Week Is the Debut Of A New Once A Month Segment Launching On the 3rd(Weds) and The Mod Shop Is Back This Thursday!

Have a Fun and Safe Holiday!

Today is Thursday, Its Mod Shop Time! Spotlight: Superlift Suspension Systems!

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Welcome to all my truck owners who love to sit high! This edition of The Mod Shop is for those who want to lift their 2007 Chevy Silverado 4WD and give it that nice, mean stance.

The Company:

superlift

Now at superlift, they offer two different front lift methods. “One system uses towers to space down the factory coilover struts. Pre-load rings, installed below the coil springs, slightly increase spring rate to help offset the additional loads created by running larger tires, and firms-up what would otherwise be “spongy” ride and handling characteristics. This lift method works with all factory shock options, and is required on SUVs factory equipped with the Autoride electronic shock option.

Superlift’s other lift method replaces the factory strut bodies with lifetime-warranted premium gas struts. These new struts have the same features as our 2.5½ struts. Superlift’s design allows full turning radius; not so with some other name brand lifts, where turning radius is reduced by over 20%! For rear lift, most pickup owners opt for 5½ blocks or Superide replacement springs. Shorter lift blocks are available to lessen the nose-down rake, and add-aleafs (used to strengthen the factory rear springs) are offered as well.”

Minor cutting and / or welding is required. You Can run 18″ or 20″ stock wheels with oversize tires. 17″ stock wheel & tire can be used as spare only. Aftermarket wheels require specific backspacing; min. 5.5″/ max 6″.Rear spring installation requires lowering / reinstallation of fuel tank. Not compatible with GMC Denali and Cadillac Escalade so please keep it to just your Silverado and try not to modify your GMC or Caddy to make this fit.

This is the looks difference between a stock 4WD Silverado and a Superlift Silverado.
