Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Today we are heading to more-japan.com to make sure that when you are hitting the apex’s on a road course that you dont move in your seat! One of the top racing seat brands in the world currently is

The product from Bride im covering is the Stradia. The Stradia is Bride’s newest and best racing seat! A hybrid combination of a full racing bucket yet for comfort its reclinable! The FRP STRADIA and GIAS are the ultimate seats available. In black outer, with black hyper fabric inner, with shorter side bolsters for easy entry and exit. NEW Andromeda backing by Maziora. It uses the LOW MAX seating system, which allows the driver sit farther back into the seat, for the best holding position.

STRADIA is similar to GIAS, with the exception that it uses shorter side bolsters, for a very comfortable ride, and ease in entering and exiting the vehicle. STRADIA is a true full bucket race seat, but it’s reclinable options offer levels of comfort standard buckets cannot allow. The frame and mounting areas are fully reinforced steel, while the FRP construction keeps the weight of this seat low. When STRADIA was recently released in Japan, it quickly sold out and is now Bride’s most successful, and most sought after seat of all time.

Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen! This is The Automotive Corner! Honda Is Bringing Back One Of Its Best Weapons To Attack Nissan!

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

Welcome everybody to the one spot to bring you what’s hot in the world today! I am VizX and this is the automotive corner! Today I’m on scene at Keva juice slammin down a Hawaiian holiday (pineapple & orange juices, bananas with orange sherbet and strawberries) and man this is so good, especially since I’m a little under the weather with a sore throat. This feels nice :)

Before I get us into the automotive corner, I would like to take a second to say Rest In Peace to one of the greatest comedians to ever walk this earth. His full name George Dennis Patrick Carlin, Born May 12th 1937. He was a genius and a realist when it came to his comedy, famous for “Seven Words You Can Never Say On Television” which actually led to a key Supreme Court ruling on obscenity. Carlin, who had a history of heart trouble, went into St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica on Sunday afternoon complaining of chest pain and died later in the evening, said his publicist, Jeff Abraham. He had performed as recently as last weekend in Las Vegas. Despite his reputation as unapologetically irreverent, Carlin was a television staple through the decades, serving as host of the “Saturday Night Live” debut in 1975 and appearing some 130 times on “The Tonight Show.” In one of his most famous routines, Carlin railed against euphemisms he said have become so widespread that no one can simply “die”.’Older’ sounds a little better than ‘old’, doesn’t it?” he said. “Sounds like it might even last a little longer. … I’m getting old. And it’s OK. Because thanks to our fear of death in this country, I won’t have to die - I’ll ‘pass away.’ Or I’ll ‘expire,’ like a magazine subscription. If it happens in the hospital they’ll call it a ‘terminal episode.’ The insurance company will refer to it as ‘negative patient care outcome.’ And if it’s the result of malpractice they’ll say it was a ‘therapeutic misadventure.”‘

Carlin won four Grammy Awards for best spoken comedy album and was nominated for five Emmy’s. On Tuesday, it was announced that Carlin was being awarded the 11th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Unfortunately come June 22nd, it would be his Final curtain call. We all Will Miss You George!!!

RIP George Carlin

Ok so onto the reason of today’s article, The Automotive Corner. Lately we have been hearing about how great the Nissan GTR is in every fashion. It’s styling, it’s handling, it’s power which by the way is a Twin Turbo V6 450+ HP and you cant argue that. But the big thing that people have been going on about is that it has set a record at the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife track in Germany with a scary fast 7′29″. This car has been dubbed Godzilla, and with good reason. The Nissan Skyline/Nissan GTR had the name of Nissan’s Racing Battle God for many years through out all of the years and generations of GT-R’s.

One man wants and has a good chance in beating this. This man is Takeo Fukui. He is the CEO of Honda motor company and he recently has tasked his Research and development team with the resurrection and construction of the strongest and fastest Acura NSX to date to beat the GTR at the ring. There are rumors flying around that it has been clocked by a spy snapper running a 7min 37! I Hope that CEO of Nissan/Renault Mr.Carlos Ghosn is ready for his flawless GTR to become number 2 as Honda is taking charge to become number 1 at the ring.

Do we know whats under the hood of this new NSX? We know its a 5.5-liter V10 expected to make 550 horses, with a torque peak expected around 420 Ft/Lbs. The engine is essentially a slightly larger version of the V8 that Honda will use for the next-generation, rear-wheel-drive Acura RL sedan, and it will use cylinder deactivation under light loads for maximum efficiency which is a wonderful feature with todays gas price’s, so if your just putting around, say only 6 cylinders will be in use, but get on the throttle and be ready for all 10 to throw you back in your seat. Additional gains will come from the use of an eight-speed, yes EIGHT speed paddle-shifted automatic. Imagine the acceleration of an eight speed auto?? Plus paddle shifters?? Your hands have no reason to leave the wheel when putting down the power!

Getting the power to the ground will be a modified version of Honda’s Super-Handling All-Wheel-Drive (SH-AWD) system. Packaging could be tight, however, as this NSX will place its V10 up front and not in the middle as previous generation NSX’s were. I myself was hoping if this car did come back to fight for its title as Japan’s super car it would keep the MR platform(Mid engine-Rear wheel drive). Below are the photo’s of both cars, the NSX of course heavy in Camo because they just wanted to build it and race it and not let anyone see what it looks like until a production version is ready I’m sure.

To me it looks like Honda is on the right track to getting the title back, maybe a little forced induction is in need? A Turbo will definitely assist in gaining the record at the ring away from Nissan.

Nissan GTR:

and the mega camouflaged NSX:

even in the interior is camo so not to be seen!!

I can’t wait to see if the next gen NSX takes the title from the GTR, now I’m wondering, We have a Skyline, We are getting the NSX back, when is the Supra supposed to return along with the RX7? It seems all of our tuner dreams are slowly coming true!
