Welcome To An Early Bird Automotive Corner!

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Ok so before I go to bed this morning(I work 3rd shift) I was browsing around some blogs when I stumbled upon something amazing thats going to debut at SEMA this year!

What do you get when you combine a 2008 F-350 Super Duty with a shelby GT500KR?

You Get Performance West Group’s F-350 “Striker”!

This is a concept drawing of it for now…

This is badass on every level right here!! As you can see its the standard F350(that comes with a 6.4L Powerstroke Diesel) thrown in a blender with the body and paint schemes of the shelby.

The Striker is still being built. PWG says it will be painted “Striker Silver” with “Badass Blue” racing stripes running the length of the truck, from the leading edge of the front air dam to the bottom of the rear bumper cover. Hulst Customs is fabricating and installing the Striker’s custom bodywork as well.

See the rims in that drawing? Those are portrayed as 24-inch lightweight American Force forged dually wheels, mounted with low-profile Pirelli tires designed for a different kind of hauling than what Ford Super Duty’s are used to. Hauling ASS!!

Diesel guru Gale Banks is working hard to come up with ways to tweak the 350-horsepower and 650 pounds-feet of torque PowerStroke engine for optimal street performance and power.

Inside, Katzkin Leather will match the silver and blue exterior colors with custom leather surfaces and seats, equipped with four-point racing harnesses. Katzkin is the leading custom leather seat cover company for most applications, I would recommend them to anyone! The interior will also include matching floor coverings, aluminum racing pedals and auxiliary gauges and Sony is supplying the Striker’s A/V Entertainment system.

The Striker will debut this November in Las Vegas at the annual SEMA show, the largest gathering of aftermarket parts and accessories companies in the world and I cannot wait to see actual photo’s of this beast!!!!

Flytoyz fans, if any of you attend SEMA, send us your photo’s and we will post em up for you as event coverage!!

Well thats all I have for now! I seen this and was blown away, this thing will be a beast!!

Thanks for coming by! I hope you have a great monday! Ill see ya thursday on the Mod shop!!

Welcome All! The Automotive Corner is here! Concept Mini Crossman With 3D Laser Globe!

Monday, September 15th, 2008

And Just check out what I found today, Apparently there is a new techy little feature in the new Mini Crossman. Now while the Crossman is still quite the small vehicle(hense mini right)but on the inside there’s a giant 3D globe that utilizes laser technology to integrate all of the car’s entertainment, communication and navigational features into a touchscreen interface!!  The globe splits into hemispheres allowing the driver to check out a map while a passengers surfs the web. A laser projection will display the information, in both text and graphic form, and at multiple layers within the globe. The driver can use this feature by touching the globe itself or by using the trackball located on the steering wheel. While this is still very much a concept, im sure they have the technology to do this or it wouldn’t be brought to a concept base at all right?

all I can think about this is BADASS, But is this a trend for new vehicles? The next photo is a photo of the nav system from the new Ford Explorer America Concept from the article I did a few months back.

3D Globe Navs for all? Well see if this continues.

Thanks for coming by today! stay tuned for The Mod Shop coming this thursday!

The Automotive Corner Is Here! Technology Meets Automotive To The Extreme! Meet:Gina

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Hey everybody, how are you today? I hope all is well, and that you were looking forward to the corner today because i’ve found a doozy.

Meet Gina:

One mean looking BMW isn’t she? There’s something about her, something….so very, very special. Check out the video and tell me what you think.

This is a concept car that was developed by BMW. The GINA is built on the same chassis as the BMW Z8 and it has a six-speed automatic transmission with a 4.4 liter V8 engine. I’ve seen a lot of things being an enthusiast of the automotive world, but for once I’m speechless. Comments?
